About Sweet & Shiny

Sweet & Shiny began in Brooklyn, New York in 2011 as a small cake studio with a walk-up café window—an intimate space where design, craft, and community met over dessert. From the beginning, the brand was rooted in artistry. The name Sweet & Shiny comes from founder Elaine Li’s two longtime passions: sweet for baked goods, and shiny for glassblowing—both disciplines grounded in precision, creativity, and respect for process.

In 2015, Sweet & Shiny relocated to Ohio as Elaine’s family grew, bringing with it the same dedication to thoughtful design and elevated flavor. By 2019, the studio evolved into a licensed home bakery, allowing the brand to focus more deeply on custom work and intentional production.

Today, Sweet & Shiny is known for refined, art-forward cakes and desserts that balance beauty and taste. Growth has been entirely organic, built through word of mouth and long-standing client relationships—allowing the work to speak for itself. Each piece is designed with care, using high-quality ingredients and a collaborative approach that transforms personal stories into edible works of art.
